GCSE Science Curriculum
Examination: EDEXCEL GCSE 360
Science, Additional Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
The GCSE Science course begins at the start of Year 9 and continues through to Year 11. Most pupils will achieve three Science GCSE’s – Biology, Chemistry & Physics. Some pupils may be advised to only complete the Additional Science Award and this counts as two GCSE’s in the Sciences.

Battle Abbey Schools Science Department maintain strong links with the international scientific community, with visiting lecturers and scientists holding workshops and classroom sessions on a regular basis. Assessment
The course follows a varied method of assessment which includes:
• End of topic tests set by Edexcel, internally examined & externally moderated.
• Multiple Choice externally examined Module tests.
• Practical assessment internally assessed.
• Centre devised portfolio internally marked, externally assessed.
• Final external examination for B3, C3 and P3.
