Orienteering
Orienteering takes place over all 3 terms for years 7 and 8 and is set in our beautiful and historic battle grounds. Students learn map reading skills, problem solving and team building skills.
 
Students will navigate from point to point in a competitive nature over varied terrain.   There are a variety of courses to challenge students that vary in complexity and distance. Students are given an orienteering map to find control points situated around the course, of which they decide the most efficient route to complete the course in the fastest time. Courses can be run, walked or jogged, however, we do encourage students to run to improve their personal/physical fitness and the sporting nature of the activity whilst stimulating the mind.
 
Orienteering is both a cognitive & competitive sport challenging and educating students in a different way.
