Lessons and Tuition
All overseas students take part in lessons with our British students and all lessons are conducted in English. In years 10 & 11 students take the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE). In the sixth form, they take AS and A Level courses. We can arrange for international students to have additional tuition in subjects such as Italian, Russian, Japanese and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and some pupils will take GCSE and A Level examinations in these subjects.

The school is currently in the top 60 schools for GCSE results in England and the joint best school in East Sussex for GCSE results.

This year the boarding community includes students from Hong Kong and mainland China, Russia, Germany and France. In the last two years all the EFL students leaving the school at the end of Year 13 went to the universities of their choice, to study, for example, Medicine, Architecture and Computer Science in Hong Kong, London and Cambridge.
