ICT
ICT is taught to all pupils in Key Stage 3. The ICT curriculum at Key Stage 3 strikes a balance between giving pupils a good range of ICT skills, an appreciation of the impact ICT is having on society and business as well developing a critical approach to the use and selection of ICT. The Key Stage 3 ICT curriculum is broad, ranging from control systems in roller coasters to developing spreadsheet models.

At Year 10, pupils have the opportunity to select GCSE ICT (Edexcel) and/or the Diploma in Digital Applications (DiDA). The GCSE in ICT is a more traditional GCSE that offers pupils the opportunity to develop ICT skills in the coursework element whilst developing a theoretical appreciation of the subject. The results in this have been exceptional in recent years (88% A*- A grades in 2008, with a B being the lowest grade attained in the class). The DiDA qualification offers a more practical approach to the subject. Potentially students can achieve the equivalent of four GCSEs. All pupils pursue a unit in general ICT applications. They then go on to specialise in Business Applications or Graphics.
