Extra Curricular Groups
There are many opportunities for ensemble music making at Battle Abbey. There are three choirs, a concert orchestra, a brass ensemble and a string ensemble. The main school choir meets on Monday after school and Tuesday and Friday mornings. Repertoire includes oratorio, show songs, sacred anthems and secular songs. The Chamber Choir is a small group, limited to 16 singers and they perform more difficult works by the likes of Allegri and Palestrina.
There is a concert given by the music department each term in which the music students get to show their skills with ensemble and solo performance.
