Cricket
Battle Abbey School is committed to giving all pupils with an interest in Cricket an opportunity to enjoy and improve their game. The school has a side in every age group meaning that over 60 boys have the chance to represent the school each season. Furthermore, our success with the boys is beginning to show with the girls and we are looking to increase the number of girls playing the sport at the school.
Curriculum
Cricket is the major sport of the summer term for the boys. Boys play cricket for the length of the term. Each age group receives a games afternoon where the game is developed through high class instruction from qualified teachers.
Clubs & Fixtures
Due to the popularity of cricket at the school the PE department runs three clubs a week in which the boys can attend and work on all their aspects of the game.
The boys generally play one fixture a week and are expected to attend one club session a week. In preparation for the season indoor nets start at the beginning of the Spring/Lent term.
The season ends with a showcase of talent in the annual Dad vs Lad match.
