Basketball
Basketball is an established sport within the school and is played at both a recreational and a competitive level.  At Battle Abbey Senior School, we have an outdoor, full size basketball court which is often used by the pupils to play on during their break and lunch times.   Highly qualified staff, with coaching qualifications, run the lessons and club, which ensures pupils gain/benefit from a high level of expertise.
  
 
Curriculum:
Basketball is currently a module on offer to Year 11 students and the schools sixth form
 
Clubs and fixtures:
Basketball at Battle Abbey has proved to be a popular choice with Key Stage 4 and the schools sixth form although, like all are clubs, are open to all pupils.  At basketball club, pupils further develop their skills learnt in lessons and will always have the chance to apply these skills in a game situation or conditioned game.  The club is run during the winter term weekly.
In the past, the school teams, both boys and girls, have had a great success in basketball coming top three schools in the area for a number of consecutive years.
